I do believe in this statement which says that the eyes are the windows to the soul. So it is really important for us ladies to make them stand out and what better way than to make them pop with some mascara! Applying the right mascara to your lashes does accentuate your look and intensifies your eyes. Pick your mascara according to the look you want to achieve by trying different ones with different brushes.

Here are few guidelines to help you in finding the right mascara for your eyes:

For short lashes try mascara which has a small brush as it helps in leaving no eyelashes untouched. If you want a more natural and subtle look, go basic and try the straight brush. But if you are looking for volume and texture try the curved brush.

Another type of mascara brush that you can find is the spherical ones. These are very effective in reaching all of the lashes and with them, applying mascara to the bottom lashes become so easy.

Clear gel mascara are great if you want to achieve a very natural look! It helps in making your eyelashes look lenghier and in separating the lashes without having any pigment to it. If you are not allowed to put makeup on in school, a clear gel mascara is best to be used as it will go undetected while still making your eyes brighter.

Now on to the fun part! Colored mascaras are awesome!! If you are going to work or school you might want to use transparent or black mascara but if you are going out with your friends, a wedding, a party or a carnival and you want to stand out in the crowd go for the colored ones! My personal favorite color for colored mascara is blue and I have two different shades of blue in two different brands. Colored mascara really gives a touch of originality to your look.

A tip to wear your mascara right is to first and foremost curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, especially if you have straight eyelashes. Then apply mascara on the tip of the lashes instead of on the whole length. This will help avoid clumps and also give an effect of longer lashes.

And finally choose the waterproof ones for longer stay; a good choice for colored waterproof mascara is the Pastel’s Waterproof Volume Mascara Color which you can get in about 7 different colors and for the regular black one the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara is great. ;)

On an ending note, I personally don’t like fake eye lashes, as I naturally have long eye lashes, applying mascara on them automatically creates more volume and definition without making my eyes look heavy and also I am not comfortable wearing fake eyelashes; But if you can rock a good fake eye lash go for it! ;)
